Being ever the humble servant of the arts, I like to make an effort from time to time to meet and work with new artists. So much time devoted to the show relates to video editing, so its nice to come out in person and spend some time working with an artist. An artist with this kind of talent that should not be ignored!

Also a percussionist in the amazing band The Galaxy Machine, Sean Little is an imminent master whose forms open a window into a world of intense drama and whimsy. A vision of a new world and way of seeing arrests you, and your perceptions are forever altered.

We hope to feature the work of our newest artist to one of our events in 2009. For more information on this years’ events, please visit the seashow homepage.

Mr. Sean Little was kind enough to engage your humble host in a quest to complete some art pieces.

We hope to debut some of his new pieces at one of the events we are planning in 2009. The SEA SHOW plans to provide ongoing assistance to this artist in the grant application process in so that he can finish some pieces in preparation for a joint show this coming year with other SEA SHOW artists.

The addition of a floating mount, fabric backing, and the addition of a frame lends a weight to these works that makes them all the more stirring.

Many of his works have a great deal of treatment after the initial design is complete, adding lustre and depth to his creations.

For those of your lusting for more that is art basel, today, I got the best goodies so far!

I call this vlog episode two even though I released this peice two weeks ago. It was created in the month of November, and also is relevant to the subject.

This was an overall very awesome day, very art filled! I was planning to go the a public art meeting that is held every month. If you’re really curious use the search function in Google to learn more.

I skipped the public art meeting (they are held monthly) it to take care of my dog, then me and pup dropped by 619 western to meet with Dr. JohnnyWOW! to discuss the details for our upcoming show this Thursday. I got to see flyers for his presentation, and I have to say, I am rather looking forward to it! I still feel bummed that I had the camera on the audience when they were bent over laughing, I missed the joke! :-< I found out later what it was but I am still bummed that I didn’t catch it on tape, it sounds funny. I’m sure you could guess what the Doctor was inflating with the WOWZ!Air.

He gave me permission to post a sneak preview of his product demonstration. Should be an interesting night! We will doubtless have some SEA SHOW artists coming out to spend a lovely evening of art and company with Your Humble Host and the artist Dr. JohnnyWOW!, whose art studio is definitely a hub of action and beef jerky during the artwalk. You won’t go hungry, not for arts, or processed meats. A few glasses of wine and you might find yourself reaching for a jumbo cheez-it. YUM. Good times!

Then it was over to Ballard rather inspiring meeting with none other than Sir Mark the Poet, a gallant knight he is and the fortunate artist to first be aired on SCAN TV for the SEA SHOW.

I could produce my own version of that reality show “The Hills”, except with way more tobacco smoke, alcohol, and makeup that those guys down south could ever imagine.

Its cold and rainy in Seattle and it makes you want to find a nice dark bar and hang out over a cold one with a good friend. Or, better yet, go see some art! I got an inside peek at Dr. JohhnyWOW!’s upcoming presentation. It will actually be shorter than what I filmed in Portland, Oregon on November 5, 2008. We will start showing video at 7pm or so, then continue till 8, when the Doctor will give his first demo. That will go for 5 to 7 minutes, then we’ll take a break, watch some hilarious video, have a few more pieces of cheese, and enjoy yet another new innovate cure for the modern art hangover.

We’ll enjoy a short presentation, then you will get to see segments of the talk Dr. JohnnyWOW! gave in Portland earlier this month. Here is the first few minutes of his presentation. The audience was cracking up, but I was busy filming them and missed the chance to capture the questionable joke on tape.

SEA SHOW vlog: an Introduction

I had a busier night that usual since I wasn’t glued to my computer yesterday. It was a most relaxing evening nontheless. This morning was a little more of a challenge, I ate some marinated food yesterday and when I woke my stomach hurt. Rolling around to find a comfortable position only the pain worsening, resulting in me ending up in a sweaty ball on the floor of my bathroom. I should have gone with my instinct in my initial dislike of the marinated olives. Better now, but I felt bad about missing my daily art blog post. I have part of it saved so I will post that tonight for you to peruse at your leisure.

This is an introduction to a new facet of our daily blog. We hope to start releasing 1 to 2 short videos a month. Since many of these are part of longer pieces, can be multicamera shoots, its difficult to manage releasing them a lot, but we will strive to include some of these. In the coming days you will see video for this week’s show, and a preview of what you can expect to see more of this Thursday night, when the painter Dr. JohnnyWOW! gives us another installment of his talk/performance art.

If you haven’t visited our youtube site, please visit or sign up and become a subscriber and know the instant I upload a video. Chances are, it is 6am and you are still in bed when that message hits your mailbox. Better yet, subscribe to my RSS feed and get my blogs the moment they happen and cut out the middle man.

There is so much energy at artwalk each month, I’ll be glad to get back into it this month. In two days, I’m excited to visit 619 Western and say hello to Dr. JohnnyWOW!, who will debut the latest incarnation of his artistic approach. There will of course be a recording of this, and we’ll be showing video of the artist giving his talk earlier this month that night too. Video everywhere. Too much fun.

This blog will be part local adventures in emerging art forms, part news commentary. I still don’t visit any site with regularity, but my small numbers are steady day to day, so as we increase our readership and I get better at making sense and choosing good topics, you’ll see things improve.

The first vlogs you will see are works-in-progress for recent shows and upcoming events, like the one I’ll be showing video at and taping at this Thursday, December 4th. After that you’ll see more segments of 28 minutes episodes I plan on submitting to SCAN TV. The next four weeks will be crazy, but I think it will be fun to watch & read.

next things I have planned:
